The Hardline Blues Band hails from Edmonton, Canada. We play contemporary urban electric blues, which we consider nourishment for our musical souls.
Although all of the band members have other projects and have collectively played for decades on the local, regional and national scene, we’re united by driving shuffle beats, loud guitars and full, grinding dance floors.
Our sound combines classic horn arrangemens by Johnny McCormack
with original songs by Jeremy Loome on guitar and vocals. We also play covers of songs by BB King, Buddy Guy, Albert Collins, Albert King, Freddie King and many others.
But our key value is this: every band member contributes something new and original to each song we play, every time we play it.
That’s a blues ethic: the feeling has to be there, and it’s little difference every time. The thump of a kick drum, chunky guitar chords and springy multi-note riffs.
Real, live music in an era when you sometimes wonder where it all went.
The Band will be playing a reduced gig schedule whilke we work on our first CD, which we expect to complete by mid-summer. Keep an eye on this space for dates.
Feb. 17 2008 - B-Street Bar, Edmonton, AB. 9 p.m. Stay tuned for more dates soon!
